All of them, without exception, will be brought before Us
The fact that past generations cannot return to earthly life does not mean their story has ended. The Quran immediately affirms that all will be brought before God on the Day of Resurrection for reckoning and recompense—both those who accepted the truth and those who mocked it.
Another verse describes that day as one when people will be gathered and everyone will witness it There is surely a sign in that for anyone who fears the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a day for which people will be gathered, a day that all will witness..
In this world, the quiet faith of an unknown person may be overlooked amid the noise of public life, while oppressors may imagine that death will close the whole affair. But at the universal gathering no one is left out of the accounting and no deed will remain permanently ignored.
Death ends our opportunity to act in this earthly life, not the possibility of justice and accountability.
